Audrey II
This is my original version of the smallest Audrey II pod, presented at undergraduate research day.
Audrey II was my undergraduate research project in 2024. I focused my research on the design and construction of puppets used for stage production.
Stage puppets differ from film and television puppets in many ways. Stage puppets often need to be able to perform "tricks" physically and practically that film and television can fake with editing. They also need to be durable to withstand the rehearsal process and show run, not to mention what may come after. Many theatre companies will keep their puppets and rent them to others for use. For this reason, theatrical puppetry is a bit of a fading art in the world outside of professional theatre. It is, after all, easier to budget for a rental than the actual construction of giant plants.
